ABOUT MISS EARTH
Miss Earth is an annual international beauty pageant promoting environmental awareness. Along with Miss Universe and Miss World contests, Miss Earth is one of the three largest beauty pageants in the world and is one of the most publicized beauty contests in the world. The reigning titleholders dedicate their year to promote environmental projects and to address issues concerning the environment.
Miss Earth Sabah 2011 aims to highly and practically educate the young girls in Sabah to help create awareness for themselves, their families and especially the community of Sabah to be more serious in saving and protecting the environment. This pageant will produce beauties that possess the right criteria to represent Sabah in the national competition of Miss Malaysia Earth 2011 that will be held in Ipoh, Perak on the 27th June this year. Miss Earth's because is carried out to assure that each of the participating candidates are not just physically beautiful, but environmentally knowledgeable.
Our representatives from Sabah have made us proud for two consecutive years by winning most of the major titles in the National level and have represented Malaysia in the international level. This has always been our dream to see more Sabahan girls to achieve high accomplishments and introduces Sabah to the rest of the world. Not only that, we hope they will continue their role in helping to raise awareness about the importance of keeping our environment green.
Throughout the competition, apart from enrolling themselves in programs that emphasize strongly on environmental protections, the participants are also required to attend various environmental activities, where they are given the opportunity to practice and voice out their green thoughts and ideas. Besides that, this event also aims to showcase and promote various tourist destinations in Sabah.
